About Me
I’m Satwant Kaur, founder of Samajhna Therapy, offering counselling and psychotherapy online and in person in North London.
Many people come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted or disconnected from themselves. Sometimes this is linked to anxiety, relationships, family pressures, life transitions or difficult past experiences. At other times, people simply know that something does not feel quite right, even if they cannot fully explain why.
I understand that starting therapy can feel daunting, especially if you are used to carrying things on your own or find it difficult to speak openly about how you are feeling.
My aim is to offer a warm, thoughtful and supportive space where you can talk freely and begin to make sense of what you are experiencing, without judgement or pressure.
I believe that building a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship can help people develop greater self-understanding, process difficult experiences and find healthier ways of coping.
I hold an MSc in Counselling and Psychotherapy, and work integratively, drawing from person-centred, psychodynamic and cognitive behavioural approaches. This allows me to adapt therapy to the individual, recognising that every person’s experiences and needs are different.
Samajhna means understanding. For me, therapy is not only about feeling understood by another person, but also about developing a deeper understanding of yourself and the experiences that have shaped you.
